*Server4you Down and Out

Out for the count yesterday, Server4you gave us all some pretty bad tech support as problems arose.
Brian McNitt left a comment in my log yesterday that had a link to an mp3 so you could hear what we were hearing from them. Listen to the call here.

There was also some talk of the outage on webhostingtalk. I'd like to know where some of these people got their information and what they're doing about their situation. Five minutes of downtime is supposed to be maximum. We experienced at least 10 times that yesterday.

I contacted the sales department yesterday at s4y because I couldn't get to the support ticket part. This is what I sent/got:

    Hi, I think S4Y is a bad hosting company. Today for the second time in three years they deleted my website and e-mail account by accident. They gave me back an account after being out of the air for 2 weeks the first time and 2 days today. But then ftp and the mail server doesn't work and lots of tech help is needed. And as you know, tech is not that fast.

    This is nasty when you depend on your site and e-mail for your work.

    same here,

    no connectivity. my site, my clients sites, everything. grumble.

    this really sucks. I cant even reach thier homepage www.server4you.de or www.server3you.d.e

    here's the same
    they went down for more than 10 hrs on monday
    than came back for a very short period and from yesterday night up to now down, down, down.
    I can't reach ticketsystem and in between even their homepage was down.
    No service, no tech support nothing.
    Any alternatives to server4you???
