It's often stated that children have an easier time learning things than adults. I think I finally noticed my first episode of this recently with programming and I think I indentified exactly what it is:

I've been experinencing feelings of not wanting to work on things because I'm unwilling to sit down and play around with them as much as I think I once was. I don't feel the need to learn all the little tweaks and cool things I possibly can like I did when I was first learning computer stuff. These days I'm often in a rush to get something done and I just want the final product, not all the playing that goes along with it.

Short, but sweet explanation of what I really believe is happening. So.. to combat it im going to start playing again. I'm going to start trying to play with programming.. I'm going to start playing with my legos again too. I refuse to be sucked into this unlearning state of mind.

i had a doll. with different sets of clothes. my imagination was extended to "what will samantha be wearing today?" instead of "what kind of space station and/or pirate ship am i going to build today?"

Ok so Pete told me an economist joke. Is this funny? I can't tell:
A physicist, chemist, and economist are stranded on an island. All they have is a single can of tuna.
The physicist suggests, "Let us drop this rock on top to get it open."

The chemist suggests, "Let us stick it in the saltwater so it will erode and then we can open it."

The economist suggests, "Assume a can opener."

    Do you get it?
