since i put anything new on this site.. well.. in the log anyway. ive got a couple new pieces on the front page (one, two). in the log im thinking about doing a guide to follow up my small budget photography guide and it will be about small budget living! ive already got a lot of ideas down on paper. i calculated how much it costs me to live the other day and it came down to basically $340/mo. that’s everything - rent, utilities, food, clothing, bathroom stuff. there are some things that are unaccounted for that most other people have (i don’t have car payments, house payments etc etc), but truthfully that’s pretty much what i spend in a month, so i really think im entitled to write about it.

i went to the Vignette summit in austin and it was a blast. met everyone in the company and they’re all pretty damn fantastic. ive got nothing bad to say about the team at all and im really excited to be a part of it. summit was fun.. monday-friday worth of sessions about.. vignette products and stuff. lots of food.. cool hotel room. met more people that week than i have in my whole life i think.

during/right after summit was a bit confusing for me. getting settled into the job was not easy since things aren’t exactly set up in a manner that is.. intuitive for new people to learn. but after those first two or three weeks i was pretty settled in and got everything figured out. since then ive been doing training on their portal product and now im actually working with it. for those of you still struggling to understand what it is im working with (dont worry, i was struggling to understand it too) i think this picture of the user-end of portal might help you get an idea.. or at least have something visual in your mind that you can associate me with. im not going to explain my job because there’s way too much explaining to do about it and im not even entirely sure myself exactly all the things ill be doing, so ill update that later hopefully in the form of a resume or something.

so anyway.. ive been pretty much just working for the past few weeks here.. hopefully some exciting stuff happening in january here and ill keep you all informed.

other than that not a whole lot of news..
i bought a couple things (gasp), one is a roomba, and ill take pictures later and post.
lauren and i went down to orlando to check out an oriental medicine school for her and it looks pretty cool. we’re pretty sure we’ll move down there sometime this summer. if anyone reading this knows anyone in orlando please let me know, it would be of great help.
