It’s been REALLY cold lately.. so much to the point that I was going through the whole day completely uncomfortable. In my search for indoor comfort I knew that there had to be a reason my thermostat was at the same level but I was still absolutely freezing.
I found that humidity really was my problem.. lack of humidity. Whoever thought that it could be uncomfortable to be so un-humid. I learned a lot about relative humidity, heating, cooling and a billion other things along the way.
Anyway. I’ve been boiling water on the stove and accelerating its diffusion by keeping a fan on the stove with it. Yesterday I boiled at least 12 cups of water in it (about .75 gallons) and it felt better.. Boiled more that night and this morning and it feels absolutely wonderful in our little apartment now.. almost like summer. I’d say between today and yesterday it’s been about 2 gallons of water for our little 700some sqft apartment. We can definitely keep the thermostat lower because of the comfort factor. I can sit in here and feel comfortable and my skin feels about 100% less dry. Kitty is also happy because I don’t shock him everytime I touch him now.
It’s amazing how much of a difference a few cups worth of water in the air can make.
