pidgin is quite a nice piece of software. I've been pretty disappointed with some past GAIM releases, but this change has been all good.. which is amazing considering it's a full-integer software upgrade (1.x->2).. actually that's amazing for any software upgrade at all. The ONLY problem is this absolutely RIDICULOUS mascot/logo/thing they have. I have never seen a more absurd thing to represent a piece of software.
but yeah the UI is fantastic and it's amazing that the whole thing got rebranded -- icons and all -- and it came out so good.

Subway from Manhattan to JFK airtrain: 30min
Airtrain to AmericanAirlines terminal: 30min
Walking through JKF's massive bloody terminal, through security and making it to my gate: 20min
At least that's the way I recall it now. Dunno if that's right, but I'll check next time I go. Subway is definitely fast as hell, but man.. getting around in JFK is absolute madness.

I like the mascot. He looks friendly & like he knows the rules of the agreement we have with him.

I don't know... I kind of miss the clutter of the protocol icons, the universal status icons seems to make it more difficult to talk to people on preferred protocols or accounts. I hate it when new features aren't optional.
